Injuries Reported in Columbia Auto Accident on Highway 240 and Highway 40

COLUMBIA, MO (February 23, 2025) – Friday afternoon, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 240 and Highway 40 injured 4 people.

The incident happened just after 1:00 p.m. when a 19-year-old man drove a 2004 Chevrolet Cobalt but failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 240 and Highway 40.

A Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound on Highway 40 collided with his vehicle on the driver’s side. The Impala was driven by a 43-year-old woman from Marshall, Missouri.

The driver and a 39-year-old male passenger in the Impala sustained minor injuries, while a 19-year-old female passenger in the Cobalt from High Ridge, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. All four individuals were transported to University Hospital by ambulance.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
