4 Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 [Kelso, WA]

Kelso, WA (June 21, 2024) – Four people have been injured following a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 early Wednesday morning.

It was before 3 a.m. when the traffic accident happened on the southbound freeway around mile marker 42.

A victim from the collision reported to the authorities that the car was upside down in trees, and one of the vehicle occupants was missing and it is possible that they were thrown out.

The rescuers responded and located the car tracks leaving the road near mile marker 43. 

Immediately, a deputy climbed down an embankment and located a car that rolled over 60 feet off the roadway down a slope with tall brush surrounding it.

Later on, the rescuers located four people with significant traumatic injuries. Rescuers used baskets to pull the victims from the accident. 

Two Lifeflighters were called due to the severity of the injuries.

The medical team transported all four people to the hospital. Two of them were taken by ambulance and two by Lifeflight. They are all expected to survive.
