Police Investigate Crash on FM 2053 and Highway 87 in Lubbock
Lubbock, TX (August 28, 2025) – Four students sustained injuries in a crash on FM 2053 and Highway 87.
A crash involving four O’Donnell ISD students occurred during lunchtime on Thursday, leaving three of the juveniles with serious injuries, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene. One student was airlifted to a medical facility, while EMS transported two others to the hospital.
The fourth student sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
By Thursday evening, O’Donnell ISD confirmed in a statement that one of the injured students had already been released from the hospital.
In light of the incident, school officials canceled the junior varsity football game that was scheduled for Thursday night.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details about the cause have been released.
