4 People Injured in Deadly Crash on Highway 60 [Carter County, MO]

Carter County, MO (August 19, 2025) – A deadly crash on Highway 60 left 4 people hurt and claimed the life of a 61-year-old woman from Williamsville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened Saturday afternoon on U.S. 60, just east of Van Buren.

Reports say that the woman failed to yield to an oncoming pickup truck, causing a collision that forced both vehicles across the center line before coming to rest off the road.

Emergency crews transported the woman to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, where she later died from her injuries. Her passenger, a 63-year-old woman from High Ridge, sustained minor injuries and was flown to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.

The truck’s driver, a 68-year-old man from Arizona, and his two passengers were also hospitalized in Poplar Bluff. A 67-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries, while the driver and another passenger, both 68, sustained minor injuries.

Authorities confirmed that all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. This marks the 23rd traffic-related fatality in MSHP Troop G’s region so far in 2025, an increase from 15 at the same point last year.
