Riverside, CA (May 31, 2025) On Friday, 44-year-old Jamie Pierce of Riverside was killed after a horrific traffic crash on Interstate 10 .

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened on I-10 near Cottonwood Springs Road.

Reports say that a white Dodge pickup truck traveling at full speed triggered a deadly multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 10.

Authorities say that the pickup driver crashed into the back of a Volkswagen sedan as traffic was slowing near Cottonwood Springs Road just before noon.

The impact caused a chain reaction that involved a Tesla and a big rig. Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the Volkswagen driver, 44-year-old Jamie Pierce of Riverside, dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported the Dodge driver to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate to major injuries. The drivers of the Tesla and big rig did not report any injuries.

Authorities stated that alcohol or drugs did not appear to play a role in the incident. CHP issued a SIG Alert following the crash and later reopened all lanes by 5:42 p.m.
