5 Sent to Hospital in Highway 71 Multi-Vehicle Crash [Bastrop County, TX]

Bastrop County, TX (February 18, 2026) – Five people were sent to the hospital following a Highway 71 multi-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

The authorities responded at 3:40 p.m. to the four-vehicle crash near Bob Wire Road.

Troopers determined a vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way while exiting a parking lot.

Rescuers rushed the five patients to a hospital via ambulance while one patient with incapacitating injuries was airlifted by StarFlight.

Officers are investigating.
