Commerce City, Co (July 4, 2025) – A crash on Interstate 76 early Friday morning sent five people to the hospital, according to authorities.

The Colorado Department of Transportation shared news of the incident on the social platform X around 5:40 a.m.

Commerce City Police confirmed that five individuals were transported to the hospital, including one person who suffered serious bodily injuries. 

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.

Due to the incident, officials closed the westbound lanes of I-76 between Colorado Highway 2 and 104th Avenue early Friday, but they reopened later that morning.
