5 Dead in Jacksboro Traffic Crash on Highway 380

JACKSBORO, TX (November 18, 2025) – Sunday afternoon, a brutal auto accident on Highway 380 killed Jonathan Contreras and 4 others.

The incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Highway 380, 8.8 miles outside of Jacksboro.

A westbound Honda Accord on US 380 tried to pass in a no-passing zone and collided with a Honda CR-V, according to DPS.

The Accord rolled over and came to rest on its roof, while the CR-V spun before stopping.

All three occupants of the Accord died at the scene; their identities have not been released. Two of the four people in the CR-V also died: a 1-year-old boy and 29-year-old Jonathan Contreras.

Two others were injured, including 30-year-old Evelyn Sheppard and a 4-year-old boy.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
