64-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck on South Bonnyview Road [Redding, CA]

64-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Dies in South Bonnyview Road Accident

Redding, CA (February 12, 2022) On Friday, a 64-year-old man was fatally struck by a pickup truck as he was crossing South Bonnyview Road.

The Redding Police Department (RPD) says that the incident was reported around 6:45 a.m. in the area of South Bonnyview Road.

Police say that they found a man lying on the road near the Interstate-5 overpass, just east of Bechelli Lane.

Moreover, reports say that the pedestrian was seen crossing outside the designated crosswalk and was wearing dark clothes.

Then a 68-year-old man from Redding, driving a 2500 GMC pickup did not see the man and was not able to stop in time.

Apparently, the man was driving into the left turn lane when the man appeared directly in front of his truck.

Furthermore, the driver did not flee and called 911.

The RPD traffic unit is investigating the crash.
