7 People Transported in Head-On Crash on 196th Street [Lynnwood, WA]

Lynnwood, WA (July 3, 2025) – Several people were hospitalized following a head-on crash on 196th Street late Tuesday night.

It was before 10 p.m. when the authorities attempted to stop a car on suspicion of DUI. However, the driver failed to yield and the authorities began a chase.

The suspect driver exited southbound freeway onto 196th Street and crashed with another vehicle at the intersection with Alderwood Mall Parkway.

Officers said it was a T-bone collision with a vehicle carrying five people, two of them are minors.

The rescuers rushed the five people of the crashed vehicle, and the driver and passenger of the suspected DUI vehicle. 

According to the authorities, the passenger in the suspect’s vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and occupants in the other car were rushed to Swedish Mill Creek Hospital.

The authorities later arrested the suspect, a 33-year-old Marysville man, and booked him into Snohomish County Jail for attempting to elude, DUI, second-degree driving with a suspended license, five counts of reckless endangerment and a Department of Corrections felony warrant.
