7-Year-Old Girl and 9-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized in I-70 Collision [Grain Valley, MO]

Grain Valley, MO (September 18, 2026) – A 7-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy were injured following an I-70 collision late Tuesday night.

It was past 10 p.m. when the solo-vehicle crash happened at mile marker 25.

Police said an eastbound 2023 Volkswagen Taos SUV driven by a 43-year-old Blue Springs woman crashed onto a concrete belt placer on the road.

The rescuers responded and rushed the seriously injured driver to Centerpoint Medical Center.

Subsequently, the two children were taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital. The 7-year-old girl incurred minor injuries and a 9-year-old boy was moderately injured.
