71-Year-Old Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Foothill Road [Ventura, CA]

Ventura, CA (December 4, 2024) – A 71-year-old male bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Foothill Road Sunday evening.

The traffic accident happened around 5:21 p.m. near La Fonda Drive.

Troopers said a caller reported a male cyclist lying on the road with a bicycle nearby. 

The caller pulled over to help and witnessed a white car, possibly a Lexus, run over the cyclist.

The driver, a woman in her 70s, and a passenger, a woman in her 20s, stopped and exited the white car. The women walked over to the victim but did not help, instead, they returned to their car and fled before the rescuers arrived.

According to the investigators, the cyclist collided with an object on the road, lost control, and fell off his bicycle. The victim is in critical but stable condition.
