WOODSIDE, CA (May 11, 2026)— A 75-year-old bicyclist died in the hospital ten days after a crash on Portola Road involving a car.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 call around 12:15 p.m. on May 1 reporting a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle.

Paramedics found the male bicyclist alive but unconscious at the scene. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Sheriff’s officials said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have contributed to the crash.
