75-Year-Old Maria Leal Dead in 43rd Avenue Collision

Driver Fled the Scene in Phoenix Deadly Crash

Phoenix, AZ (March 22, 2026) – 75-year-old Maria Leal was killed in a 43rd Avenue collision before Friday noon.

The deadly hit-and-run crash happened on March 20 in the area of Orangewood Avenue.

Investigators said Leal was trying to enter the passenger side of a parked vehicle. A vehicle slowed to give her room, however, another vehicle passed by driving between the two vehicles, and struck Leal.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene after the impact.
