Police Investigate Fatal Crash on L Street in Chula Vista

Chula Vista, CA (October 9, 2025) – A 77-year-old man died Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a crash on L Street, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the 600 block of L Street. First responders arrived to find the pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the driver involved, a 77-year-old man operating a gray 2014 Toyota Corolla, was traveling eastbound in lane number one when he struck the pedestrian. 

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement.

Officials confirmed that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision, which remains under active investigation.
