8 People Hospitalized After Crash on Story Road and McLaughlin Avenue [San Jose, CA]

Injuries Reported in San Jose Car Accident on Story Road

 
SAN JOSE, CA (October 12, 2020) – Sunday afternoon, eight people suffered injuries in a crash on Story Road in East San Jose.
 
According to reports, the incident happened at around 12:27 p.m. on Story Road and McLaughlin Avenue.
 
After conducting an initial investigation, the authorities discovered that an elderly man lost control of his car. As a result, he crashed into an outdoor dining area at Grand Century Plaza. Also, the vehicle struck several people.
 
The police confirmed that the injuries ranged from major to minor. Also, updates on the conditions of the seriously hurt individuals weren’t available.
 
Meanwhile, witness John Brown revealed that a man drove a pickup truck. Then, he drove across the sidewalk and median and drove into the parking lot, where numerous people were in the outdoor dining area.
 
“The noise when (the truck) went through was like a huge grinding sound because of all the tables and everything caught underneath,” Brown stated “It was so fast a lot of people didn’t react at first. I saw them go to the ambulances. Everyone was very shocked.”
 
Meanwhile, the officers suspect that the elderly driver was in medical distress before the crash.
