8-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Vehicle Crash on MO 22 [Audrain County, MO]

Audrain County, MO (July 4, 2025) – Four people were injured following a vehicle crash on MO 22 late Wednesday night.

It was around 10:10 p.m. when the collision happened east of Thompson.

According to the authorities, a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by a 34-year-old Clifton Hill man was westbound on the freeway.

The accident report noted that the Dodge’s driver fell asleep and crossed the center line.

As a result, the Dodge then collided with a 2016 Ford Escape traveling east. One of its tires came off and struck another eastbound car.

Moreover, Ford’s driver, a 30-year-old female, and her 2 passengers, a 9-year-old female, and an 8-year-old boy, were injured.

The woman and the 9-year-old girl incurred minor injuries while the 8-year-old boy was seriously hurt.

The Ford’s driver also sustained serious injuries in the collision.

All those involved in this collision were taken to University Hospital.

MSHP said the Ford’s driver and the kids in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts during the crash.

There is no information if the Dodge’s driver was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
