81-Year-Old Passenger Dies in King County Metro Bus Collision on 156th Avenue Northeast [Bellevue, WA]

Bellevue, WA (August 15, 2022) – On Monday, an 81-year-old passenger died in a King County Metro bus collision on 156th Avenue Northeast.

It was about 8 a.m. when the traffic incident happened at the intersection with Northup Way.

Officers say that the bus and a car collided head-on while the bus was turning left.

Sadly, the 81-year-old car passenger died at the scene while the driver was rushed to Overlake Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreover, officers say there were no reports about the bus driver and passengers sustaining injuries from the collision.

The authorities say impairment and speed did not play a role in the Bellevue fatal bus-car crash. They are still investigating.
