Harlingen, TX (January 24, 2026) – Abelardo Javier Garza, 22, of Harlingen, was killed in a Grimes Avenue collision Wednesday night.

It was around 10 p.m. when an SUV and a motorcycle collided at the intersection with Loop 499.

Rescuers rushed the motorcyclist, Garza, to an area hospital wherein he died two hours later.

Moreover, the driver of the SUV that was also involved in the collision remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The authorities are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
