Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck on Bear Valley Road in Victorville
Victorville, CA (May 3, 2026) — On Thursday evening, a man suffered injuries after a pedestrian accident on Bear Valley Road in Victorville.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash around 7:10 p.m. near the 11790 block of Bear Valley Road, just west of 2nd Avenue. The collision occurred along a busy stretch of roadway near a commercial area.
Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital with injuries, though officials have not confirmed their severity. A helicopter later arrived at Desert Valley Hospital, indicating a possible transfer to a higher-level trauma center.
Authorities said the vehicle involved remained at the scene with visible front-end damage, while debris believed to belong to the victim was scattered across the roadway.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials closed the westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road at 2nd Avenue during the response.
Stop Pedestrian Accidents
To help avoid pedestrian accidents, drivers and pedestrians alike should be increasingly vigilant and watch out for each other. Drivers have to make sure to slow down in crowded areas, watch for people crossing and not get distracted, like by texting.
Pedestrians should cross only where they are supposed to, heed the traffic lights and attempt to establish eye contact with drivers before they step off the curb. If you’re walking at night, wear something bright or reflective so you’re easier to see. Do not walk and use a phone, or wear headphones, on the road.
Pedestrians face serious risks on busy roadways, especially at night. Drivers should remain alert and reduce speed in populated areas, while pedestrians should use designated crossings and stay visible to avoid tragic accidents.
