The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 6:50 p.m. near Missouri Highway U and Weeks Street. A 25-year-old Portageville man was driving the SUV when it left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned into a house.

The driver and two passengers—a 17-year-old girl from Cairo, Illinois, and a 23-year-old Cape Girardeau man—were ejected during the crash. All three sustained serious injuries.

Emergency crews took the two passengers to a hospital in Cape Girardeau. The driver required air transportation to a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital for treatment.
