Two Hospitalized Following Off-Road Vehicle Crash Near Banning

Banning, CA (July 26, 2026) — On Friday evening, 2 people were hospitalized after a frightening accident on Potrero Road where a Polaris side-by-side off-road vehicle crashed on a dirt road near Banning.

The incident happened just before 7:20 p.m. on Potrero Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver reported that the vehicle’s brakes failed, prompting her and four passengers to jump from the moving off-road vehicle.

The driver and three passengers sustained minor injuries, primarily road rash, while one minor suffered a broken ankle. Officials confirmed that two of the injured were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Let’s Drive Safer Together

High-speed crashes can occur in the blink of an eye, but so many are preventable with small, intelligent decisions. Pay attention, don’t get distracted (say, by texting) and never drive after drinking. As ever – obey speed limits, buckle up and keep plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles. These are small enough measures to save lives — including your own.

We can all take steps to help keep our roads safe for ourselves, our families and our communities.

Off-road vehicles require proper maintenance and safe operation to help prevent serious crashes. Before every ride, inspect your vehicle’s brakes and other critical components, and ensure all occupants wear appropriate safety gear. If you or a loved one has been injured due to another party’s negligence or a vehicle defect, understanding your legal rights can help you pursue the recovery you deserve.

Life After a Traffic Accident: What You Should Know

A traffic accident doesn’t truly end when the vehicles are removed from the scene. For many victims, the real impact begins afterward. Physical injuries, emotional distress, and financial burdens can linger long after the crash, making recovery challenging and overwhelming.

Car accident injuries range from minor cuts and bruises to serious conditions like broken bones, spinal injuries, or traumatic brain injuries. Even injuries that seem small at first can develop into long-term health issues. Beyond the physical pain, many people experience anxiety, stress, sleep disturbances, and post-traumatic stress. At the same time, medical bills pile up and missed work leads to lost income, creating additional financial strain.

If someone else’s negligence caused your accident, you may have the right to pursue compensation. This can include coverage for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and future care needs. Understanding your rights is crucial to protecting your future.
