Shocking Pedestrian Accident on Yulupa Avenue Injures Child

9-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Santa Rosa Crosswalk Crash

Santa Rosa, CA (August 21, 2026) — A 9-year-old boy suffered significant injuries Tuesday night after a pedestrian accident on Yulupa Avenue in Santa Rosa.

The Santa Rosa Police Department said the crash happened around 8:28 p.m. on Yulupa Avenue, just south of Sonoma Avenue. A white Ford Mustang traveling southbound hit the child, who investigators believe was using a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics transported the boy to a trauma center for treatment. Police have not released further details about his injuries.

The Mustang driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have contributed to the crash. Investigators are determining the vehicle’s speed and whether the crosswalk signal was active when the collision occurred.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the Santa Rosa Police Department.
