One Killed, One Injured in North Long Beach Multi-Vehicle Crash
Long Beach, CA (August 24, 2026) — A multi-vehicle crash in North Long Beach left a woman dead and a man injured Saturday afternoon leading to the arrest of Adalberto Delgado-Perez.
The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. in the 6900 block of Atlantic Avenue. Investigators said a speeding 2019 Volvo traveling northbound struck a 2004 Chevrolet as it turned onto Atlantic Place. The Volvo then hit two other occupied vehicles stopped at the intersection, causing the Chevrolet to overturn.
The woman inside the Chevrolet died at the scene. Emergency crews transported the male Chevrolet driver to a hospital for treatment. The occupants of the other two vehicles, including two women and two children, escaped injury.
Police said the Volvo driver initially fled but returned shortly afterward and was arrested. Authorities identified him as 38-year-old Adalberto Delgado-Perez of Compton. He faces charges related to hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and DUI causing bodily injury. His bail was set at $100,000.
The investigation remains ongoing.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the woman who lost her life. We also hope for a full recovery for the injured victim.
