Deadly Monterey County Auto Accident on Alisal Road and Hartnell Road

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (May 23, 2024) – Wednesday morning, Adolfo Rosales Diaz was arrested after a brutal hit-and-run crash on Alisal Road.

The incident occurred Alisal Road, just north of Hartnell Road.

After the crash, the authorities apprehended and arrested the driver of the white GMC Yukon, 65-year-old Diaz of Salinas.

Officers reported that Diaz attempted to pass a Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Alisal Road. According to the CHP, the Nissan was turning left into an agricultural field when Diaz’s GMC slowed down but still collided with the Nissan’s left rear. The impact caused the Nissan to come to rest in a ditch east of the roadway, while the GMC ended up in the southbound lane facing north.

Diaz was subsequently arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail. The CHP is continuing its investigation to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
