Aglae Yunuen Patino Dies in Tragic Collision on FM 511 [Cameron County, TX]

Cameron County, TX (July 23, 2026) — A wrong-way crash on FM 511 claimed the life of Aglae Yunuen Patino of Brownsville and left another person hospitalized Wednesday morning.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 8:52 a.m. on FM 511, south of State Highway 48.

Investigators said a 2020 Kenworth tow truck was traveling northbound when a 2007 Toyota Scion, which was heading south in the northbound lanes, crashed head-on into the truck.

Authorities identified the victim as Patino, 34, a passenger in the Toyota. She died at the scene.

Emergency responders transported the Toyota’s driver to Harlingen Valley Baptist Hospital, where the driver remains in stable condition. Officials have not released the condition of the tow truck driver.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash.
