Aidan Poole Injured in Brutal Crash on Interstate 27 [Hale County, TX]

Hale County, TX (September 20, 2025) – A devastating crash on Interstate 27 near Lubbock left 19-year-old Aidan Poole, a Texas Tech student, with life-threatening injuries on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators reported that 44-year-old Thomas Jason Rich of Midland drove at excessive speed while intoxicated and rear-ended another car. The impact sent the victim’s vehicle airborne, and the gas tank ignited when it struck the ground.
