RIVERSIDE, CA (February 12, 2026) – Wednesday morning, a person sustained injuries in an alarming 2-car crash on 3800 Jackson Street near Garfield Street.

The incident happened at 11:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of Jackson Street, near Garfield Street, in front of Parkview Community Hospital, according to the Riverside Fire Department.

Battalion Chief Greg White said two sedans collided for reasons that remain under investigation, leaving one driver trapped inside the wreckage with life-threatening injuries.

Light rain was falling across the city at the time of the crash.

An engine crew and a truck company, totaling nearly a dozen personnel, responded to the scene. Firefighters used heavy rescue equipment to extricate the trapped driver, White said.

The driver of the other vehicle was able to get out on their own and appeared to have only minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Both directions of Jackson were closed to ensure public safety while crews worked to free the injured driver, whose identity has not been released.

The patient was transported to Parkview’s emergency department for treatment. Firefighters began clearing the scene around 12:15 p.m.

Riverside police maintained a partial closure of Jackson early Wednesday afternoon as they conducted a preliminary investigation.
