OCEANSIDE, CA (April 7, 2026) – Saturday night, two people were hospitalized after an alarming 2-vehicle crash on El Camino Real and Mesa Drive.

The crash involving two vehicles happened at about 10:30 p.m. on El Camino Real and Mesa Drive.

Officials said both vehicles involved in the crash overturned, with one coming to rest against a light post and partially hanging over a bridge above a culvert.

Fire crews found one person in each vehicle. Due to the position of the vehicle on the bridge, firefighters first stabilized it before beginning rescue efforts.

Crews used specialized equipment to extricate the driver safely. Both individuals were taken by ambulance to a hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.
