EL PASO, TX (June 22, 2026) – Sunday morning, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 East near Lordsburg injured 3 people.

The incident involving two commercial vehicles occurred on Interstate 10 East near mile marker one, outside of Lordsburg, New Mexico.

According to the authorities, preliminary information indicates a FedEx tractor-trailer struck the rear of another commercial vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 10.

One person was airlifted from the scene, while two others were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The crash closed eastbound Interstate 10 for approximately 5½ hours. The New Mexico Department of Transportation said the roadway reopened at about 3 p.m. Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation.
