Injuries Reported in Clinton County Traffic Crash on Missouri Route 116 and Northeast Valann Lane

CLINTON COUNTY, MO (December 16, 2025) – Sunday night, an alarming auto accident on Missouri Route 116 and Northeast Valann Lane injured 3.

The incident began at 7:40 p.m. on Missouri Route 116 and Northeast Valann Lane, two miles from Lathrop.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when a pickup truck traveling eastbound slowed to make a turn. The truck was driven by a 34-year-old woman from Polo and was struck from behind by another pickup driven by an 18-year-old man from Lathrop.

After the initial collision, the Lathrop man’s truck came to rest upright in the westbound lane of Route 116, facing north.

While emergency crews were responding to the scene, an SUV driven by a 60-year-old man from Ostrander, Ohio, struck the driver’s side of the Lathrop man’s truck.

Both the Polo woman and the Lathrop man sustained serious injuries and were transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment. The Ohio driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
