AUBURN, WA (July 7, 2026) – Monday night, a child was hospitalized after an alarming bicycle crash near 31st Street NE and L Street NE.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 31st Street Northeast and L Street Northeast

A child was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle, according to police.

Authorities said the child, believed to be about 6 years old, was riding a bicycle when the collision occurred.

The child was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities do not believe criminal activity was involved and described the incident as a “bad accident.”

The Auburn Police Department is investigating the crash.
