1 Person Arrested in Thurston County Auto Accident on State Route 507 near Yelm

THURSTON COUNTY, WA (February 5, 2026) – Tuesday night, an alarming DUI crash on State Route 507 near Yelm injured one person.

The incident happened at around 6:15 p.m. on State Route 507 near Yelm.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a southbound vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

Moreover, responders transported the 24-year-old female wrong-way driver and the 57-year-old male driver of the northbound vehicle to Providence St Peter Hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested the wrong-way driver on suspicion of driving under the influence after a breath test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.262.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
