MEDINA COUNTY, TX (October 1, 2026) – Tuesday night, an alarming fiery crash on 9600 US Highway 90 West sent 2 drivers to the hospital.

The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. in the 9600 block of US Highway 90 West.

Police said both vehicles were traveling west when the car struck the truck from behind. The impact caused the car to catch fire, trapping the 26-year-old driver inside.

People at the scene were able to pull the driver from the burning vehicle before officers arrived. He was taken to a hospital, while the 63-year-old truck driver was also hospitalized.

Police said the 26-year-old driver is expected to face a DWI charge but had not been booked as of the latest update.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police said the information is preliminary.
