Injuries Reported in Cooper County Go-Kart vs Dirt Bike Accident on Rocheport Road and Highway 98
COOPER COUNTY, MO (June 29, 2026) – Saturday night, a Boonville man sustained injuries in an alarming go-kart crash on Rocheport Road and Highway 98.
The incident involving a go-kart and a dirt bike happened just after 5:25 a.m. on Rocheport Road, east of Highway 98.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 33-year-old Boonville man was driving a Murray go-kart westbound when he stopped in the roadway for unknown reasons. A 15-year-old Boonville boy riding a Honda CRF300F then collided with the rear of the go-kart.
The impact caused the go-kart to overturn, ejecting its driver before the vehicle came to rest on top of him. The teenage rider was also thrown from the dirt bike, which landed in a nearby ditch.
The go-kart driver, who was not using a safety restraint, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital. The 15-year-old rider, who was wearing a helmet, sustained minor injuries and was transported by Cooper County Ambulance District to the same hospital.
Authorities said both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were secured at the scene.
