VANCOUVER, WA (July 23, 2026) – Tuesday night, a person sustained injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash near NE Highway 99 and NE 61st Street.

The incident happened at about 10:00 p.m. near NE Highway 99 and NE 61st Street.

A witness told the authorities the man was crossing the highway outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The driver fled the scene without stopping.

The victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.

Investigators are searching for a small white four-door sedan believed to have significant front-end damage and a missing driver’s side mirror.
