Injuries Reported in San Francisco Two-Vehicle Accident on 47th Avenue and Lincoln Way

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 12, 2026) – Friday night, an alarming hit-and-run crash on 47th Avenue and Lincoln Way injured 2 Waymo passengers.

The incident involving a vehicle Outer Sunset happened at 9:28 p.m. on 47th Avenue and Lincoln Way, the San Francisco Fire Department said.

Fire officials said witnesses reported the driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot.

Responders determined the crash involved two vehicles, one of which was a self-driving car operated by Waymo. The two passengers in the Waymo vehicle requested medical evaluation, though the extent of any injuries has not been confirmed.

Video from the scene showed damage to the Waymo, particularly along the front driver’s side near the front tire, as well as at the rear.

The cause of the collision remains unclear. Roads were wet at the time due to rain, and no details have been released about the other vehicle or its driver.
