Norman Darrell Lynch Arrested in Sherman Pedestrian Accident on 700 South Dewey Avenue

SHERMAN, TX (November 11, 2025) – Friday, a 72-year-old man sustained injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash on 700 South Dewey Avenue.

The incident happened in the 700 block of South Dewey Avenue.

A teen was struck by a pickup truck driven by 72-year-old Norman Darrell Lynch, who fled the scene.

A witness provided the license plate, leading Sherman PD and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office to locate and arrest Lynch.

Authorities say he admitted to hitting what he believed was a person and leaving the scene. Investigators believe he was under the influence and noted he has nine prior DWI convictions.

Lynch faces multiple charges, including DWI, collision involving serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, intoxication assault causing serious injury, and tampering with evidence.

He was booked into Grayson County Jail with a bond set at $150,000.
