ALBUQUERQUE, NM (October 6, 2025) – Friday, a car crashed into a wall after an alarming major crash on Interstate 50 and Carlisle Exit Ramp.

The incident happened at about 9:55 a.m. on Interstate 40 eastbound near the Carlisle exit.

One vehicle veered off the roadway, either from the interstate or the Carlisle exit ramp, and struck the soundproofing barrier wall at I-40 and Carlisle, according to officials. A white vehicle was also seen stopped in the painted divider area between the exit ramp and the eastbound lanes of I-40.

Bystanders were spotted near the car that collided with the wall, but the extent of injuries remains unknown.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported that the right eastbound lane at the Carlisle exit was closed due to the crash, with a DOT help truck blocking the area. The New Mexico State Police are investigating the incident.

By 10:35 a.m., a flatbed wrecker arrived on scene to remove the vehicle. The right exit lane remained closed while the left lane stayed open.

At 11:00 a.m., the vehicles have been cleared, and all lanes to the Carlisle exit have reopened.
