ROANOKE, TX (September 21, 2026) – Early Sunday morning, a police officer was hospitalized in an alarming motorcycle crash on State Highway 114.

The incident happened on State Highway 114.

A police officer was critically injured after a pursuit involving two motorcycles ended in a crash with a van on State Highway 114, according to authorities.

Roanoke police said officers were conducting traffic enforcement near the Texas Motor Speedway after receiving complaints about speeding motorcyclists. An officer on a police motorcycle attempted to stop a motorcyclist who allegedly fled.

Both the officer and the fleeing motorcyclist crashed into a 2023 Ford Transit van on SH 114, just west of I-35W, according to the Northlake Police Department. The officer was taken to a hospital in critical condition, while the suspect, who is from Lawton, Oklahoma, was also hospitalized and remains in custody.

Northlake police said the roadway was closed until 6 a.m. while investigators documented the scene. The department is continuing to investigate and said appropriate charges will be pursued.
