KANSAS CITY, MO (November 27, 2025) – Last November 12, a man sustained injuries in an alarming multi-vehicle crash near 59th Street and Prospect Avenue.

The incident involving five vehicles happened at about 7:00 p.m. near 59th Street and Prospect Avenue.

Police said five vehicles were involved in the crash. According to Cornetta Lee, her father was waiting to turn left when another driver hit him head-on.

“God is amazing. He brought our dad through this miraculously. Daddy is a walking, living testimony. He still has a long way to recover,” Lee said.

Her father suffered multiple broken bones, including fractures to his ribs, spine, and sternum. He also needed 19 stitches to his head after the airbags deployed, and he received chest compressions.

“It’s just a blessing that he is alive,” she said.

With Thanksgiving here, Lee said the holiday carries a deeper meaning for their family. She hopes others take safety on the road seriously.

“Life is precious. Please be careful when you’re driving,” she said.

Her reminder for anyone behind the wheel: avoid distractions.

“Don’t text and drive. Don’t drink and drive. Don’t do anything that pulls your attention away. You never know whose life you could impact, and the families behind them,” Lee said.
