Injuries Reported in Yuma Multi-Vehicle Accident on E Airport Loop near Avenue A

YUMA, AZ (April 28, 2026) – Wednesday morning, an alarming multi-vehicle crash on E Airport Loop near Avenue A injured 2 drivers.

The incident involving three vehicles happened at around 7:55 a.m. on E Airport Loop, between Avenue A and W County 14th Street.

The initial investigation found that a 1998 Toyota Tacoma was traveling south on Airport Loop when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2021 Toyota Corolla. A 2020 Ford Explorer behind the Corolla avoided the crash by moving onto the gravel shoulder, but still sustained damage.

Rural Metro Fire transported the Tacoma and Corolla drivers to Onvida Health with critical injuries. Both were later airlifted to a hospital in the Phoenix area for further treatment.

Reports confirmed that the driver and passengers of the Ford Explorer were not injured.
