1 Person Arrested in Indio Auto Accident on Monroe Street and Avenue 40

INDIO, CA (February 10, 2026) – Sunday night, an alarming patrol vehicle crash on Monroe Street and Avenue 40 injured one person.

The incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. on Monroe Street and Avenue 40.

Reports said that an eastbound Nissan sedan collided head-on with a parked patrol vehicle. Then, the force of the crash pushed the patrol vehicle into an officer who was outside his patrol vehicle.

Responders rushed the officer to Desert Regional Medical Center with significant leg injuries. A K-9 unit inside the vehicle, identified as Hoki, sustained no injuries in the crash.

Officers arrested the female driver of the Nissan on suspicion of DUI.
