PHOENIX, AZ (January 25, 2026) – Thursday morning, a driver sustained injuries in an alarming pedestrian crash near 31st Avenue and Baseline Road.

The incident happened at about 3:50 a.m. near 31st Avenue and Baseline Road.

Phoenix police said a vehicle broke down while traveling on Baseline Road, prompting the driver to exit and check the car. While outside the vehicle, the man was struck by another car.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Westbound lanes of Baseline Road remain restricted as officers work to reopen the roadway.
