Injuries Reported in Cochise County Auto Accident on Interstate 10 near Dragoon Road

COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (June 14, 2026) – Friday night, two passengers were airlifted after an alarming pursuit crash on Interstate 10 near Dragoon Road.

The incident happened just before 7:00 p.m. when the deputies attempted to pull over an older model Suburban traveling west on Interstate 10.

Investigators said the driver fled at high speed, weaving through traffic and avoiding spike strips deployed by authorities.

According to deputies, the vehicle exited onto U.S. Highway 191 and continued fleeing, with assistance from the Benson Police Department and the Willcox Police Department.

A Benson police officer later performed a PIT maneuver near Dragoon Road, about 15 miles southwest of Willcox, causing the vehicle to roll over and eject multiple occupants.

Deputies said the driver and passenger, both 16-year-old boys from New Mexico, were transporting six undocumented immigrants to an unknown destination.

Two passengers were airlifted from the scene. Authorities have not released the total number of injuries or the severity of those injuries.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
