Injuries Reported in Las Cruces Auto Accident on Highway 101 and Highway 1

LAS CRUCES, NM (August 12, 2026) – Tuesday afternoon, an alarming single-vehicle crash on Highway 101 and Highway 1 sent 2 people to the hospital.

The rollover crash occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, north of Highway 1.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a vehicle struck a tree on the shoulder before overturning.

Two patients were transported by ground ambulance, including one with major injuries and another with minor injuries.

All lanes have since reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are urging drivers to use caution in the area.
