2 Hurt in Loleta Auto Accident on Tompkins Hill Road and US Highway 101

LOLETA, CA (March 13, 2025) – Wednesday morning, an alarming traffic crash on Tompkins Hill Road led to minor injuries.

The incident occurred just before 10:00 a.m. near the Tompkins Hill Road exit, off US Highway 101 South.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a call from a driver who believed they may have fallen asleep at the wheel before veering off the roadway into nearby trees.

The vehicle, a blue Hyundai, had left the road and collided with trees. Both occupants—a male and a female—were able to exit the car before emergency responders arrived. The male suffered facial lacerations, while the female reported chest pain.

CHP officers arrived quickly and found both individuals conscious and alert. The crash has been classified as a minor injury collision.

Further reports indicate that the vehicle is approximately 30 feet off the roadway, with its tires partially submerged in the bay.
