Driver Critically Injured in Alarming Vehicle Crash near Arena Boulevard [Laredo, TX]

Injuries Reported in Laredo Auto Accident near Arena Boulevard

LAREDO, TX (September 15, 2026) – Sunday morning, a 24-year-old driver suffered critical injuries in an alarming vehicle crash near Arena Boulevard.

The incident happened near Arena Boulevard.

Investigators are trying to determine why a silver Chrysler failed to slow down before hitting a van and two semitrailer trucks stopped at a red light, according to police.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the Chrysler driver from the wreckage. The driver was unconscious throughout the incident and remained in critical condition at a hospital, police said.

No one in the other vehicles was seriously injured. Investigators have not been able to get the Chrysler driver’s account of what happened because of his condition, according to Joe Baeza of the Laredo Police Department.

Police obtained a search warrant to conduct toxicology tests as the LPD crash team continues investigating the cause of the crash.
