CLIFTON, TX (July 21, 2026) – Monday night, an alarming vehicle crash on State Highway 6 near FM 2136 led to injuries.

The incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. on State Highway 6 near FM 2136, northwest of Clifton.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, three people were injured in a crash involving a Dodge Ram and a Ford F-250 on Highway 6.

Investigators said the southbound Dodge Ram veered into the northbound lanes, possibly to avoid a vehicle entering the intersection, before colliding with the approaching Ford F-250.

Both occupants of the Dodge and the driver of the Ford were transported to nearby hospitals. The driver of the Dodge was reported to be in critical condition.

The Clifton Police Department closed Highway 6 at FM 2136 while emergency crews, including a CareFlight helicopter, responded to the scene.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
