Alex Ramses and Agustin Montoya-Garcia Die in Tragic Crash on Interstate 20 [Ector County, TX]

Ector County, TX (August 8, 2026) — Alex Ramses and Agustin Montoya-Garcia, both from Odessa, died Thursday morning after their vehicles collided head-on along the Interstate 20 North Service Road in Ector County, Texas.

The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. near mile marker 108. According to preliminary findings from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 52-year-old Agustin Montoya-Garcia was driving a 2023 Nissan Altima eastbound when he allegedly failed to yield while a 2020 Volkswagen GTI traveled westbound and attempted to enter the I-20 on-ramp.

The vehicles collided head-on, and both drivers died at the scene. Authorities identified the Volkswagen driver as 19-year-old Alex Ramses.

The investigation remains ongoing.
